Dear Visitor,

I am pleased to welcome you on visiting our Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA) website and desire you to keenly look into various aspects of our organization. Having started its journey in the field of commercial development of Railway Land with an objective of generating revenue by non-tariff measures, RLDA has evolved over the years and is taking up the enhanced responsibilities entrusted to it by the Ministry of Railways with procedural utmost transparency keeping in mind the project delivery milestones in mind. The portfolio of RLDA is now covering Commercial Development, Railway Station Re-development, Colony Re-development, and Development of Multi-Functional Complexes (MFCs).

RLDA is a key organization in the Railway Station Re-development programme which aims at transforming Railway infrastructure across various cities in India providing enhanced facilities and improved experiences for passengers and general public. The flagship programme has introduced state of the art technology and global station building practices in station development. RLDA took lead in developing expertise in creation and execution of station projects in EPC/PPP model and now 100 station redevelopment projects are being handled by RLDA out of which 15 important stations are executed by RLDA itself while in 51 number of stations, RLDA has prepared the DPR and handed over to the Zonal Railways for inviting/awarding the tender. I am pleased to share good news about the other ongoing redevelopment projects at various stations like Gomti Nagar (Lucknow) & Safdarjung station (Chanakyapuri) which have been progressing very well and are likely to be completed in January 2024. Bijwasan (Delhi) and Chandigarh station redevelopment projects are also pacing fast towards the targeted completion in April,2024.

I am glad to share that RLDA has so far awarded colony redevelopment projects in many cities during last two years and work has physically commenced at four colonies viz Rifle Range & Chilkalguda colony (Secunderabad), Guwahati colony and West Colony (Bhopal). The colony redevelopment projects of RLDA, aim at redevelopment of old dilapidated Railway Colonies to provide quality housing options and contribute to the urban transformation of the cities.

We have continuously enhanced our endeavours in commercial development of Railway land and in 2022-23 itself, RLDA has leased out 22 sites. RLDA is overall entrusted with 135 sites for commercial development out of which 36 have already been awarded.

We provide small commercial structures in the station premises aiming to provide passenger amenities in the form of MFCs and out of 84 assigned MFCs, we have been successful in awarding 58 and 17 of such MFCs have already been commissioned.

These initiatives and earnings are a testament to our efforts in building a robust and efficient railway network that meets the evolving needs of our nation and productive commercialisation of Railway land acting as a force multiplier to the economy.
